Greek Island Spice, Inc. (GISI) is a woman-owned, small business that has thrived since 1997, by manufacturing fresh marinades and fancy condiments. This company started on a card table at a small local festival. Ms. Theodore remained determined to grow and experimented with different mixes until she found the right combinations.

After learning about Ex-Im Bank products at a trade show, GISI was able to qualify for the Bank's Express Multi-Buyer Policy. Greek Island Spice Inc. was ready to enter new markets and compete worldwide. Ex-Im Support allowed the company to expand sales in its primary market—China. The Bank's financing has supported 12 jobs for the company. The company's express insurance policy was administered by broker Global Business Solutions of Winston Salem, North Carolina, the Ex-Im Bank 2011 Annual Conference Award recipient.

"We are excited and ready to expand our export sales to Asia. Ex-Im Bank's products allowed us to extend attractive terms to our buyers. I like the ability of going into the deal with a bona fide buyer," said JoAnne Theodore, President of Greek Island Spice.
