BusinessUSA Receives Award Recognition at 2014 Igniting Innovation Showcase and Awards

BusinessUSA was recently named the winner of the 2014 ‘3 Rs ‘(Recycle, Reduce & Reuse) award by the American Council for Technology-Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), a premier public-private partnership in the government IT community. Initially selected as a top 30 finalist from a pool of over 80 candidates, BusinessUSA placed among the top eight finalist of the Dynamite Awards and among the top five overall vote contenders during the recent ACT-IAC’s Igniting Innovation Showcase and Awards held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. The awards recognize government and private industry entities who develop solutions that address government IT challenges. Taking top honor was the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which received the most votes from more than 700 government and industry IT attendees for their “How’s My Waterway?” mobile and web application. Steven VanRoekel, Federal Chief Information Officer delivered a dynamic address as the keynote speaker for the event.

Launched in February, 2012, BusinessUSA is the federal government’s official assistance resource for U.S. businesses. A Presidential initiative, BusinessUSA provides businesses, exporters and entrepreneurs with a single access point to relevant and current business-related information on federal government programs, tools and services developed to assist in the growth and development of U.S. businesses. As a government-wide initiative, BusinessUSA is the principal gateway to resources developed to assist entrepreneurs and exporters. The enterprise is co-managed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Along with the Environmental Protection Agency, BusinessUSA maintains significant partnerships with 24 federal government departments and agencies who provide current, relevant business-related information, programs and services including; Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Education, Energy, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Export-Import Bank, General Services Administration, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Justice, Labor, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, National Science Foundation, Overseas Private Investment Corporation, Small Business Administration, State, Trade and Development Agency, Transportation, Treasury, and Veterans Affairs.

BusinessUSA congratulates all of the federal departments and agencies who were top 30 contenders at the Igniting Innovation Showcase including the U.S. Census Bureau, the Department of Veterans Affairs, General Services Administration, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection, and the Department of Interior.
