Alaska Manufacturing Extension Partnership
Alaska Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Business Center
MBDA provides funding for a network of minority business centers located throughout the nation. The Centers provide minority entrepreneurs with one-on-one assistance in writing business plans, marketing, management and technical assistance and financial planning to assure adequate financing for business ventures.
The Centers are staffed by business specialists who have the knowledge and practical experience needed to run successful and profitable businesses. Business referral services are provided free of charge. However, the network generally charges nominal fees for specific management and technical assistance services.
Working through the network of business centers, MBDA strives to create a new generation of minority-owned businesses generating $100 million in annual revenues. Our strategic focus is to maximize job creation and global competitiveness for minority-owned businesses and to foster innovation and entrepreneurship with minority-owned businesses in high-growth industries.

Alaska Native American Business Enterprise Center (NABEC) Sattelite Office
The Alaska NABEC Satellite Office provides business assistance services to eligible Native American and minority firms with $500,000 or more in annual revenues, and/or rapid-growth potential. The satellite office specifically focuses on providing services and identifying opportunities within the state of Alaska. U.S. businesses that are owned or controlled by the following persons or groups of persons are eligible to receive business assistance services from the NABEC Center: African Americans, Hispanic and Latino Americans, Asian and Pacific Islander Americans, Native Americans (including Alaska Natives, Alaska Native Corporations and tribal entities), Eskimos, Aleuts, Asian Indians and Hasidic Jews.
The satellite office provides clients with technical assistance in such areas as preparing financial packages, business planning and counseling, business information and management, accounting, marketing, business/industrial site analysis, production, engineering, construction assistance, procurement and identification of potential business opportunities.

Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTACs) of Alaska
Established in 1986 by the U.S. Department of Defense, the nationwide network of PTACs provide businesses with the training and tools they need to compete and perform successfully on federal, state, and municipal government contracts.
The Alaska PTAC provides procurement training and counseling services throughout the state, and help Alaskan businesses keep in touch with contracting opportunities through our award winning Bid Match program. Our staff members possess backgrounds in government acquisitions and participate in ongoing training, enabling them to keep pace with continually changing acquisition marketplace, its policies, and procedures.
