The Value-Added Producer Grant (VAPG) program provides planning grants of up to $100,000 and working capital grants of up to $300,000 to agricultural producers so they can enhance their raw products into marketable goods and biobased value-added products.
The program awards planning and working capital grants for the following:
• specialty meats
• fruits and vegetables
• dairy products
• forest products
• biobased products
• renewable energy projects
Eligible applicants include the following:
• independent producers
• agricultural producer groups
• farmer or rancher cooperatives
• majority-controlled producer-based business ventures
Beginning farmers or ranchers, a socially-disadvantaged farmers or ranchers, small or medium-sized farms or ranches structured as a family farm, farmers or ranchers cooperative may receive priority.
