Vietnam Smart Grid Development and Implementation Reverse Trade Mission
June 16-26, 2014, Washington D.C., Raleigh-Durham, NC; Atlanta, GA; San Francisco, CA- The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) will host a delegation of key officials from Electricity Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVN HCMC) on a visit to the United States to participate in a Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) focused on smart grid development. During this RTM, the delegation will have the opportunity to meet with U.S. companies to learn about smart grid distribution technologies that can support efforts to modernize and enhance power system efficiency and reliability in Vietnam.

June 19, 2014- Charge d’Affaires Rick Bell discussed investment opportunities in Niger and explain the current business climate and welcoming attitude of the Nigerien Government, specifically in the energy sector including oil, gas, uranium, and hydroelectricity. Specific topics for discussion will include: the Kandadji hydroelectric dam World Bank-financed project which is expected to be bid out at the end of 2014; opportunities for coal, uranium, gold, and oil; and the current business climate and countries operating in Niger.
