Intermediate Level Certification

Intermediate Level webinars and training resources included here are designed for the counselor who has some experience in global markets and in discussing exporting with clients. The five categories below represent the principle learning objective categories for achieving Intermediate Certification.  We recommend that you review the available resources affiliated with each category in preparation for taking the Intermediate Certification Test.

SBA and TPCC affiliated small business counselors can take the online Intermediate level competency exam.

Intermediate Certification Test

SBDC Counselors who take and pass the Intermediate level are recognized by SBA as meeting the export and trade counselor certification requirements of the Small Business Act. All small business counselors are encouraged to consider the intermediate level competency a stepping stone to advanced trade assistance certification, such as through the National Association of Small Business International Educators (NASBITE) Certified Global Business Professional (CGBP) program.
