SCORE (Counselors to America's Small Business) will offer an all-day workshop entitled 'Starting and Managing Your Own Business'. This comprehensive workshop is a must for individuals interested either in starting their own business or expanding their current business. The workshop is comprised of five separate one-hour lectures, each given by an expert in that particular field. The lectures are entitled: Lecture 1: Characteristics of Successful Entrepreneurs and Successful Companies Two out of every three new businesses will fail within five years. Learn some of the reasons why some companies succeed and some fail. Lecture 2: How to Finance Your Company There are fourteen ways a new business can be funded. Each of these ways will be discussed, from bank loans to SBA loans to venture capital to angel investors. Lecture 3: How to Write a Business Plan Business plans are an important tool for any business, especially if one is planning to borrow money. Learn what makes a good business plan. Lecture 4: Legal Aspects Learn how to register the name of your company, how to incorporate, how and where to register your company and many other important aspects of running a business. Lecture 5: Marketing Your business will not succeed unless you have a successful marketing effort! Learn some of the secrets for a successful marketing effort.
The cost of this all-day workshop is $35, and all attendees will receive a copy of our 150 page book entitled 'Starting and Managing Your Own Business in New Jersey'. Interested individuals can either register at the door or by e-mail to the above address.
