This is the 3rd Section of our Small Business Venture Training series and is intended to facilitate the writing of the finance section of a business plan and includes using income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements. Students will learn how to project and evaluate the financial performance of their small business. Also covered is a discussion of the resources available andsteps necessary to obtrain debt or equity financing for a business (taught by Julie Foster, RCEDA) It is recommended that students have moderate fluency in MS Excel. The Mexican Aviation Industry The Mexican aviation industry is recovering from adverse conditions over the past few years, including the effects of high international oil prices, excess seat offerings of several low-cost carriers, and the de-facto bankruptcy of the second largest airline Mexicana de Aviación. In 2012, the aviation sector registered positive growth with an increase in the number of passengers transported: domestic services advanced 10.3% and international services 7%. Air transportation continues to be a high demand sector and has matured to where there are now only a few low-cost carriers and one domestic leading airline, all improving coverage/routes, frequencies, prices, and services to passengers. In the National Program for Investments for Communications and Transportation Infrastructure, the Mexican Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) will be developing modernization programs for seven airports: Hermosillo, Nuevo Laredo, Toluca and Puerto Vallarta, among others. This webinar will address the general characteristics of these projects and will explain how public-private partnership schemes will support the development of a more efficient connectivity systems for the Mexican airport network.
