The U.S. Trade and Development Agency is sponsoring a technical workshop and two Reverse Trade Missions (RTM) to foster U.S.-Southern African partnerships in the implementation of solar power projects in Southern Africa. The Workshop and RTMs will expose participants and delegates to state-of-the-art U.S. technologies, equipment and services as well as policies, regulations and financing mechanisms that can support the implementation of solar projects.
The U.S. - Southern Africa Solar Workshop will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, in March 2013.
The event will highlight regional solar projects and initiatives, U.S. solar technologies, and the regulatory frameworks, standards, and financing mechanisms available to support them. The event will feature high-level participation from key stakeholders from the South Africa, Namibia and Botswana electric power sectors. Representatives from U.S. companies providing equipment and services and funding to solar industry will attend to learn about upcoming opportunities in the region and connect with senior decision makers.
The second Reverse Trade Mission will take place in May of 2013 and include delegates representing private sector organizations from South Africa. The delegates will meet with U.S. companies and tour solar project sites in Washington, DC; Phoenix, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; and San Francisco, CA.
MFM Lamey Group is organizing the workshop and reverse trade mission on behalf of USTDA. For more information about participating in the upcoming events and to discuss sponsorship opportunities, please contact Pamela Peseux of MFM Lamey Group by e-mail or by phone.
