Small Business Week Event: SC Salute to Small Business

The San Diego Center for International Trade Development (CITD), in collaboration with the City of Tijuanas Economic Development Agency (SEDETI) and the Mexicos National Chamber of Transformation Industries (CANACINTRA)- Tijuana Chapter, is organizing a business-to-business matchmaking forum geared toward assisting California small and medium-sized companies (SMES)* sell to Mexicos border region marketplace.

The event will feature:

Presentation by Tijuana Government agencies on how to do business with Mexican companies

Best practices by a U.S. and Mexican company

Business-to-business matchmaking meetings with 3 to 4 potential clients (number of meetings will depend on market potential)

Translators for B-2-B meetings (upon request)

A small exhibition area for the first ten (10) companies who register

This event is part of the San Diego CITDs California State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) program activities. The California STEP program is funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration and combines a network of state, federal, private and non-profit trade promotion organizations in California to facilitate export promotion activities, serving targeted industries to drive exports for small business.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) in conjunction with Stover & Associates, Inc. (Stover) is presenting a FREE one day workshop focusing on Proposal Preparations for individuals or enterprises eligible for assistance under Section 7(j) of the Small Business Act, 15 USC 636. This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to effectively respond to federal government solicitations. Students will learn to organize and design the technical volume of proposals, make relevant comparisons between previous work and solicitation requirements and to develop pricing strategies. Relevant student exercises are used throughout the course to reinforce teaching points. This course is primarily targeted to address the needs of pre-applicants for the 8(a) program and firms in the early developmental stage of the program. Others who may benefit include firms in the transitional stage or graduated firms that have experienced little or no success in winning federal government contracts or that wish to broaden the knowledge of personnel in key positions.
