The Office of Coast Survey produces and maintains a suite of nautical charts that cover the coastal waters of the U.S. and its territories. The office serves the nation’s mariners in industry, recreation and the military. Data acquired for nautical purposes is also used for coastal planning, fisheries improvements, and shoreline restoration, as well as a wide range of emerging applications.
