The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) provides regulatory, policy, and procedural guidance to businesses to help them understand and comply with their regulatory obligations under the Export Administration Regulations. BIS provides one-on-one counseling assistance through an export counseling call center and conducts nationwide educational seminars to assist businesses to comply with dual-use export and reexport controls (i.e., the export of commodities, technology and software that have both civilian and military or proliferation applications).
